The invention provides a method and a system for searching a mobile application, and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps that: the mobile terminal receives touch operation of a user on a mobile application icon and judges whether the duration of the touch operation exceeds a predetermined threshold value or not; the mobile terminal displays a search box and receives a search request input by dragging the mobile application icon to the search box if the duration of the touch operation exceeds the predetermined threshold value; the mobile terminal determines an uploading parameter according to the search request and a predetermined search engine protocol, wherein the uploading parameter comprises basic information of the mobile application corresponding to the mobile application icon; the mobile terminal sends the unloading parameter to a server; and the server acquires a corresponding search result according to the uploading parameter and returns the search result to the mobile terminal for display. The method in the embodiment of the invention is easy to operate and convenient to use, enthusiasm for searching the mobile application by the user is improved, the user can conveniently and timely acquire the information of the mobile application, and the user experience is good.
