The MP4 comprises a microprocessor, a voice signal output module and a MP4 display screen and is characterized in that the microprocessor is connected with a radio frequency identification module and a storage unit, wherein various kinds of voice commentary information of the scenic spot is stored in the storage unit. The tour guide system includes that a, the electric tag is arranged; b, voice commentary data are made; c, the commentary data are copied; d, an electric tap number is read; e, the commentary data of the scenic spot are found; and f, the commentary data are played. According to the tour guide system and the method, corresponding scenic spot commentary data can be found by the MP4 according to the electric tag number, tour guide effect for foreign tourists is achieved, and the tour guide system and the method have the advantages of being reasonable in structure, low in cost and convenient to apply and popularize.
