Abstract

A volume-reduction optimization method for three-dimensional solid model is based on three types of software including CATIA, three-dimensional engine Virtools and 3DMAX, employs CATIA to save a related CAD model in a specified format, then imports a related solid model into Virtools so as to carry out optimization operation on the solid model by use of Virtools and save the model by use of Virtools, and finally imports the solid model into 3DMAX to complete operations, such as material processing, texturing and baking, on the three-dimensional solid model. The method specifically comprises saving the three-dimensional solid model file in the specified format by use of the CATIA software; opening the three-dimensional solid model file by use of the Virtools platform; performing volume reduction processing on the three-dimensional solid model file by use of the Virtools platform; exporting the three-dimensional solid model; and importing the volume-reduced three-dimensional solid model by use of the 3DMAX software.
