The invention relates to a method for measuring displacement of a household electric window by utilizing a potentiometer, which is characterized by comprising storing a variable a for representing a value of the potentiometer when a window body of the household electric window is closed in place; storing a variable b for representing a value of the potentiometer when the window body of the household electric window is opened in place; storing a variable c for representing resistance difference between every two adjacent positions, and evenly dividing the distance from the position where the window body of the household electric window is closed in place to the position where the window body of the household electric window is opened in place into n positions, wherein the number of n selects values from natural numbers, and n is accuracy constants; dynamically updating two end resistance values a and b of the potentiometer for measuring the displacement by utilizing information about in-place closing and in-place opening of the window body, and enabling changes of the resistance values of the potentiometer to not influence the measurement of the displacement.
