Abstract

The invention discloses a Chinese character input method and relates to the technical field of input methods. Chinese characters are input through an input device in the method. The input device comprises an input unit, a display unit and a control unit, wherein the input unit is a touch screen or at least comprises twelve keys. Firstly, a simplified syllabification method is used, the initial consonant string of a Chinese character string to be input is selected, then whether a correct Chinese character string exists in candidate Chinese character strings or not is checked, if so, the correct Chinese character string is selected, and if not, the closest Chinese character string is selected; and then a binary syllabification method is used, and incorrect characters are revised by inputting compound vowels (or key positions) indicated by the screen till the target Chinese character string is obtained. By using the input method disclosed by the invention to input Chinese characters, thesteps are less, the operation is simple, the method is not required to be remembered and can be mastered during use, and the characters can be input smoothly, rapidly and accurately and can be revised easily.
