Abstract

The invention discloses a device for sealing a triaxial test sample of a soil body and a method for using the device. A sealer consists of two semi-annular composite materials of which openings face each other, wherein one end of the sealer is provided with a tenon tongue, and the other end of the sealer is provided with a mortise; and grooves are reserved on a base and a loading device and used for placing an O-shaped sealing ring. When the device for sealing the triaxial test sample of the soil body is used, the O-shaped sealing ring is placed in the reserved groove of the base; after the O-shaped sealing ring is flattened and covers a rubber film of the base, a lower sealer is doweled on the rubber film and fixed on the base by a fixing screw; the sample moves to a test platform; and an upper sealer and the loading device are fixed together. In a test process, sealing is formed by extrusion between the sealer and the base or the loading device and a system internal pressure. The invention has the advantages of simple structure, easiness in implementation, simplicity and convenience for operation and low cost. By the invention, air leakage in the test can be effectively prevented. The method is a high-efficiency and practical method capable of preventing the air leakage of the sample in the triaxial test.
