Abstract

The invention provides a touch screen firmware upgrading method and a touch screen firmware upgrading device for a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps of: reading firmware version information of a touch screen, which is stored in a user space of a system, into a kernel space of the system; and simulating an upgrade protocol to upgrade touch screen firmware according to the read firmware version information through a general purpose input / output (GPIO) port of the touch screen. In the invention, the upgrade protocol is simulated by multiplexing the GPIO ports of a serial clock pin (SCL) and a serial data pin (SDA) which are used for I2C communication on a hardware connector of the touch screen, so the automatic upgrading of the firmware of the touch screen can be carried out on the mobile terminal; therefore, the upgrading workload is reduced, the upgrading speed is high and the invention is convenient to use.
