A solid state disk drive and an operation frequency control method are provided. The solid state disk drive comprises a memory device and a controller, wherein, the memory device comprises a plurality of memory units for storing data bits; the controller is coupled to the memory device, the memory device can be accessed and the workload of the memory device can be estimated according to the clock signal, and the frequency of the clock signal can be adjusted according to the estimated workload. The solid state disk drive and the operation frequency control method can control the operation frequency of an SSD driver according to the system workload, thereby decreasing the system power consumption and improving the system performance.
