Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: using a poinsettia twig as a cuttage object, selecting a strong twig grown in current year without diseases and insect pests, cutting a three-leaf one-core side twig for generating a tip, and inserting the twig into the flower mud fully soaked by clear water. After the inserting, the twig is shaded properly at a temperature of between 20 and 25 DEG C under the air humidity of 70 to 80 percent. Compared with the conventional method for cuttage with the matrix, the method using the flower mud as the cuttage matrix has the advantages of simple operation, low cost and high survival rate, and can be broadly applied to poinsettia factory breeding.
