Embodiment Construction

[0138] figure 1 A machine tool 10 is shown in which a workpiece 11 is arranged in a stationary manner. The frame 12 is movable in the axial direction 13 . On this frame 12, be provided with device 14, be provided with tool holder 14 ' again on this device 14, this tool holder 14 ' can hold cutting tool. The device 14 (and thus the toolholder 14' together with the tool) is movable in an axial direction 15. The toolholder 14' is also movable relative to the device 14 in the axial direction 13.

[0139] Depend on figure 1 It can be seen that the toolholder 14' (with the tool) has a lower mass than the device 14, which can be called a slide. The frame 12 with the associated drive is the first partial shaft acting in the direction 13 and is referred to as the base shaft, while the tool holder 14' with the associated drive is the second partial shaft acting in the axial direction 13, i.e. additional axis. The base axis has a larger range of motion and lower acceleration...

Abstract

The invention relates to a measuring machine or machine tool, or a method for operating such machines, having redundant translatory axes for a substantially continuous motion on arbitrarily complex paths, the longer partial axes each allowing a relatively low-acceleration partial motion over a relatively large measuring or machining space, and the shorter partial axes each performing substantially only the partial motions of an overall motion having a substantially net constant measuring or machining velocity, requiring acceleration beyond a maximum determined or set for each longer partial axis, characterized in that the acceleration of each shorter partial axis determines the potential acceleration during the overall motion having said substantially constant measuring or machining velocity on an arbitrarily complex path, wherein the range of motion of the shorter partial axes as a distance must substantially suffice in order to perform at least one complete change in sign of the velocity of motion at said aspired constant velocity having said maximum acceleration of the longer partial axis, and the maximum velocity of motion of the shorter partial axis must be at least nearly double that of the aspired constant velocity.

Description

technical field [0001] In the development of measuring machines and machine tools, redundant, translationally acting axes are increasingly used, i.e. axes which are constructed one above the other or interact with each other and can move relative to each other in parallel in space, wherein On a base shaft with relatively long play or one or more additional shafts with relatively short play are arranged relative thereto. Background technique [0002] Such axes, which can be moved superimposed redundantly in the same direction, offer the possibility of combining large movement gaps of the base axis with short-range and therefore This is combined with the higher acceleration capability of the lightly constructed additional axle. [0003] An example of such a design is patent EP 594699B1 (Ehlerding). In said patent it is proposed to use parallel-oriented, superimposed axis arrangements in order to be able to achieve high accelerations of the light, short-stroke axes in the ent...
