The engine status is judged according to engine speed signals, when an engine is judged to be in starting process, whether a driver needs to oil the automobile is judged further according to the signal change of a liquid level sensor, and the original oil mass stored in the storer isrenewed after the automobile is judged to need to be oiled. The method avoids the display error of the remaining driving mileage resulted from the deviation of the signal of the liquid level sensor due to road condition change during the running process.
