Benefits of technology

The technology described in this patented solution allows users only receiving certain types of data (IGEM) without sending them again later on). This reduces delays during joining sessions between different devices connected over networks like LANs.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed in this patents relates to improving efficient communication between multiple layers within a multi-layer multicarrier system called LayNet Group Network (LGCN). Specifically, current methods involve sending copies of data across different networks before reaching their destination ends, causing delays when switching paths due to failures at both ends.

Embodiment Construction

[0017] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0018] The method provided by the present invention mainly includes: enabling the port in the discarding state to process IGMP messages in advance; when the switch receives or sends an IGMP message through the port in the discarding state, it determines whether An entry containing the IGMP message information already exists, if not, create an entry containing the IGMP message information in the IGMP message table set for the port, forward the IGMP message, and add If it is an IGMPreport message, use the IGMP report message to create a forwarding entry; if it is, then discard the IGMP message.

[0019] In the prior art, ports in the discarding state can only process STP protocol messages and Layer 2 point-to-point protocol messages. In the present ...

Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for processing the internet group management protocol (IGMP) messages, and enables a port in a blocked state to treat IGMP messages in advance, wherein, the method comprises the following steps: when receiving or sending an IGMP message through the port in a blocked state, a switch determinates whether a list item including the IGMP message information exists in an IGMP message list arranged corresponding to the port or not; if no, the list item including the IGMP message information is established in the IGMP message list arranged corresponding to the port, the IGMP message is forwarded; and when the IGMP message is an IGMP adding message, the IGMP message is utilized to establish and forward the list item; if yes, the IGMP message is discarded. The invention can shorten the time of interrupting multicast stream after switching a link circuit, and avoid the broadcast caused by the ring circuit of the IGMP messages.
