The invention discloses a method for accomplishing trans-frequency point service in IP STB comprising: simultaneously accessing multiple IP STBs to IP network and broadcasting TV network; every IP STB uploading working frequency point information to IP server in IP network; when user triggers trans-frequency point service of first IP STB, then information of a second IP STB working at target frequency point is acquired from IP server, the first IP STB and the second IP STB establishing links and accomplishing trans-frequency point service by receiving TV program information data of corresponding target frequency point transmitted by the second IP STB. The invention also discloses an IP STB for accomplishing trans-frequency point service.
