Abstract

An elevation device for measuring hydraulic and river engineering models by using a communicating pipe comprises an existing fixed datum elevation point (1) of a model, and an independent buried pipeline (2). One end of the buried pipeline is positioned in a model river channel; a water level station (3) is arranged at the other end of the buried pipeline (2); a matching needle water level gauge (4) is arranged on the water level station (3); a pipeline valve (6) is arranged between the buried pipeline (2) and the water level station (3); and a first communicating valve (7) and a second communicating valve (8) are arranged on a communicating pipe (5) which is positioned on the water level station (3). The elevation device overcomes the shortcomings of low measuring precision, high time and labor consumption etc. of the prior hydraulic and river engineering elevation control system. At the same time, the invention discloses a method for conducting height measurement for models by utilizing the measuring device.
