The invention discloses a system and a method for fast searching in a plurality of hard disk groups, which firstly appoints a specific hard disk device as a target hard disk device with predetermined use and then finds out the target hard disk device based on a code of a hard disk cabinet, a code of a hard disk drawer and a code of a hard disk of the obtained target hard disk device, then realizes communication of the target hard disk device. As the invention does not use a broadcast method to find out the target hard disc device, the problem of system paralysis due to the occurrence of a broadcast storm is thus avoided.
