Problems solved by technology

[0008] Consequently, information management, such as the exchange of messages using different protocols and constructs, is becoming complex
For example, mapping information from manufacturing management to process control and customer glue code for integrated systems with different protocols and formats makes construction and management a very difficult task
Also, communication failures (e.g., messages not received or executed), delayed responses (e.g., as a function of the time difference between sent and resent messages), and additional overhead (e.g., for viewing stored notification, scheduling retransmissions, and consumption of the process loop for resent messages) further exacerbates its own problems

Abstract

Systems and methods that facilitate messaging capabilities within a unified plant model (UPM) via employing a plurality of message engines that collaborate in such system. Linkage can be provided among the plurality of message engines, to provide real time interaction among the message engines / services, wherein each message engine normalizes messaging of various messaging protocols and formats. Also various systems of the UPM can map thereto - and provide a consistent interface where events are sent / received consistently across the system.
