Abstract

The method detecting changes of MAC address of AP is used to detect happening of switch. Non-uniform interval detection model is used to make detection. When MN detects happening of switch, it gets new MAC address of AP. With looking up mapping table, MN gets the IP address of AR and subnet prefix in the accessed ESS. The MAC address of MN and the subnet prefix of its neighboring ESS are used to build care-of-address of MN, and makes uniqueness authentication and pre-login to AR in its neighboring ESS. The features of invention includes: detection to mobility of node doesn't require support of beacon and trigger in link layer, and can be implemented in network layer so that it can be applied in existing WLAN environment directly.
