Embodiment Construction
[0032] Various modifications or alternative configurations can be accommodated in the present invention, but preferred embodiments shown in the drawings will be described in detail below. However, it should be understood that the invention is not intended to be limited to the particular forms disclosed. On the contrary, the invention covers all modifications, changes, equivalent structures and methods, and alternative constructions falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as expressed in the appended claims.
[0033] see figure 1 , a hand-held aerosol-free pump spray system is generally constructed to include a container 10 serving as a liquid tank to which is connected a supply tube 12 which in turn is connected to a hand-held pump spray device or spray canister 14 . As previously stated, several advantages are gained by locating the pump in the spray cartridge rather than in the container as in the prior patents cited above. By placing the pump in the spray ca...

Abstract
A hand holdable pump spray apparatus is disclosed where the pump mechanism is in the hand holdable wand rather than in a spaced apart liquid container. The wand (14) may be held with one handle is extended with other hand. This creates a pressure differential which allows liquid to flow from the container, passed a check valve and into the wand. After filling, a biased spring provides a force against the liquid creating a higher pressure in the wand than ambient pressure. This closes the check valve. When an operator depresses an actuator, another valve opens allowing the liquid in the wand to be ejected through a nozzle.
Description
technical field [0001] The invention relates to a hand-held pump spray device, in particular to a reliable, easy-to-use, safe and low-price hand-held pump spray device. Background technique [0002] Aerosol-free pump spray devices have been developed with the primary objective of eliminating the need for environmentally damaging propellants and the need for pressure vessels that could pose a safety hazard. Pressure vessels can explode and cause injury, and can have adverse environmental effects when containers contain ingredients such as pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Examples of aerosolless pump spray devices can be found in US Patent Nos. 5,938,116, 5,918,782, 5,860,574, 5,816,447, 5,810,211 and 4,174,055. [0003] A disadvantage of all these aerosol pump spray devices is that the pump device is placed in the container containing the liquid to be pumped. A flexible tube connects the container to a hand-held spray device, or "spray can." Typically, the containe...
