The compound dehumidification system comprises a transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump and a dehumidification rotating wheel. Wet air is condensed and dehumidified through the cold end of the transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump, enters a dehumidification area of the dehumidification rotating wheel, is subjected to adsorption dehumidification and then is discharged; regenerated air is heated by the hot end of the transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump and then enters a regeneration area of the dehumidification rotating wheel to realize regeneration of the moisture absorbent. The invention further relates to application of the composite dehumidification system based on transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump regeneration in air dehumidification. The transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump and the dehumidification rotating wheel are combined, an evaporator of the transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump and the dehumidification rotating wheel are used for condensation and rotating wheel combined dehumidification on wet air, meanwhile, high-temperature heat energy of the transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump is used for heating rotating wheel regeneration air, and deep dehumidification in the high-humidity environment is achieved; the problems that a traditional dehumidification system is insufficient in efficiency and low in coupling performance are effectively solved.
