Abstract

The invention provides a method for determining a continental lake basin ancient wind direction through a sedimentary system distribution pattern. The method comprises the following steps: (1) determining a to-be-recovered region and a layer position; (2) determining and analyzing a deposition system of a to-be-recovered area; (3) summarizing a distribution rule of a deposition system and summarizing phase combinations of different positions; and (4) determining the ancient wind direction of the to-be-recovered region by using a sedimentology method. According to the method, through ummarizing and analyzing a stratum, a horizon, a sedimentary facies and a sedimentary subfacies in a to-be-recovered region, the sedimentary facies are combined and summarized and divided into different orientations, and main sedimentary facies of the different orientations are summarized; and hydrodynamic force and energy in different directions in the area are analyzed based on the sedimentology theory, so that the ancient wind direction is recovered.
