The recommendation system of the present invention prevents users from reviewing products or services based on traditional scales (eg, numbers or letters) or written reviews. It also prohibits users from making multiple recommendations within each product or service category at once. Instead, the system of the present invention allows users to recommend only one provider or product for each product / service category. The action of a recommendation provider or category constitutes the entire recommendation / review, since a user can only make a single recommendation within each category. The system may allow users to change recommendations to other providers or services, but only one can be listed at any given time. Also, some of the methods disclosed herein require the user to take only a single step to provide a recommendation.

Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer products for providing referrals are disclosed. A user accesses a referral service website or application and creates a user account. The user is verified to provide referrals. The verification is sent to a communications unit, which sends a message to the user requesting the user complete a single step to provide a new referral for a business for a category of goodsor services wherein the single step comprises providing a response selected from not more than two available response options. The user account is updated to include the new referral.
