The outer frame comprises a bottom frame and a face frame arranged in parallel with the bottom frame in a front-back direction, wherein the frame edge of one side of the bottom frame is rotationally connected with the frame edge of the corresponding side of the face frame so as to allow the face frame to be rotationally openable and closable; and the front portion of the frame edge of the face frame is provided with a transversely-extending installation plate portion used for abutting against the rear side of a transparent plate and is also provided with a limiting plate portion extending front and back so as to form an annular shape in a surrounding mode to limit the peripheral edge of the transparent plate, the front endof the limiting plate portion is provided with a clamping groove, and a limiting barrier strip is transversely clamped into the clamping groove and tightly attached to the front side of the transparent plate. According to the outer frame of the advertising lamp box, the transparent plate is installed from the outside, so a waterproof effect is better than the waterproof effect of a transparent plate installed from the inside; and when the transparent plate is impacted from the front, the transparent plate can be effectively prevented from being separated from the face frame, the rear side of the transparent plate cannot be impacted, and therefore, the external limiting barrier strip can play a fixing role, and the service life of the whole outer frame of the advertising lamp box is prolonged more effectively.
