The power battery pack fault diagnosis method comprises the following steps: collecting voltage signals and surface temperature signals of each single battery in a power battery pack; screening out abnormal data by utilizing an improved Grubbs criterion; determining the type and model of a single battery in the power battery pack, and building a battery electro-thermal coupling model; performing battery fault simulation based on the battery electro-thermal coupling model, and collecting output of the battery electro-thermal coupling model under the simulated fault condition; and comparing the screened abnormal data with the data acquired under the simulation condition, and determining the fault type of the battery pack. According to the method, the dynamic characteristics of the power battery are described by adopting the electro-thermalcoupling model of the battery, the electrical characteristics and the thermal characteristics of the battery are comprehensively considered, the battery fault situation simulated on the basis of themodel better conforms to the actual situation of battery faults, and the accuracy of a fault diagnosis conclusion made by combining the model is higher.
