Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for traffic analysis and management. The method comprises the following steps: for each of at least two geographic areas, generating a first graph based ontraffic data related to traffic behaviors in the geographic area; obtaining a first similarity indicator for any two geographic areas in the at least two geographic areas through a graph accounting method, the first similarity indicator measuring similarity between first graphs of any two geographic areas in the at least two geographic areas; grouping the at least two geographic regions into at least two groups based on a first similarity indicator; and for each of the at least two groups: identifying at least one characteristic traffic type of the group; a policy is associated for the set tofacilitate or limit traffic behavior of the at least one characteristic traffic type of the set. Through the method, the traffic management strategy can be formulated according to the similarity of traffic conditions among different cities, so that the traffic management effect is improved.
