Abstract

The invention relates to an MSPG (Multi-table Searching and Path Generation)-based Ethernet frame forwarding method and an MSPG system thereof. The method comprises a controller and a switch, and comprises the following steps: step 1, when the switch receives one frame and a flow table matched with the frame exists, then acting according to the flow table; step 2, if no entry matched with the frame exists in the flow table, then sending a packetin message to the controller; step 3, after receiving the packetin message, updating a Dpip-<MAC:inport> mapping table according to an src-MAC field ofthe frame and an in-port field and a dpid field in the packetin message; step 4, searching according to a dst-MAC field in the frame; and if the dpid of the switch is x, then searching in the <MAC:inport> mapping table corresponding to x; and step 5, a forwarding flow table is found, and if the forwarding flow table is not found, then executing packetout, and performing flooding by the switch.
