Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a capsule (1) for making a drink, comprising a powdered food substance (8) capable of making a drink by passing water through the powdered food substance. The capsule (1) comprises a cup-shaped containment body (2), which in turn comprises tubular side walls (21) and a bottom (22), and a closure element (29) closing the top of the containment body (2). The bottom ( 22 ) has a dispensing hole ( 26 ), and the containment body ( 2 ) defines a containment chamber ( 20 ) inside itself. A filter element is mounted in the holding chamber (20) between the powdered food substance (8) and the bottom (22). The distribution element (5) is installed in the receiving chamber (20) between the filter element and the bottom (22). The dispensing element (5) serves to create a tortuous path for the beverage to flow to the dispensing hole (26). An oxygen-impermeable barrier (6) is installed in the containment chamber (20) between the filter element and the distribution element (5). The oxygen impermeable barrier (6) is a sheet of flexible material which is secured to the containment body (2) in an oxygen-tight manner and is intended to be torn during use, allowing beverages to pass therethrough. The flow restriction element (7) is installed in the accommodation chamber (20) at a position between the filter element and the distribution element (5), and blocks the passage cross-section of the beverage in the accommodation chamber (20). The flow throttling element (7) has at least one through opening (71), through which beverage flows to the dispensing element (5) during use.
