The book-pick-up mechanism comprises a book drawing assembly and a book clamping assembly, wherein the book drawing assembly is used fordrawing the book out of a bookshelf, and the book clamping assembly is located below the book drawing assembly and is used for clamping the book drawn out by the book drawing assembly. The book-put-away mechanism comprises a book placing box and a book pushing assembly which is located in the book placing box and is used for pushing the book out of the book placing box. The book placing box, thebook drawing assembly and the book clamping assembly are arranged from top to bottom in sequence. By means of the device for picking up and putting away the book at the high place, the dual purposes of picking up and putting away the book can be achieved simply through one handle and one supporting rod, and the device is small in size, convenient to operate, high in practicability and particularlyapplicable to libraries.
