The method comprises the steps that the robot acquires a cross-floor movement task and moves into an area in front an elevator car door of the floor where the robot is located at present; the robot sends voice request information to prompt a user to press a taking request key of an elevator and moves into an elevator car if detecting that the elevator car door is opened; after going into the elevator car, the robot sends the voice request information to prompt the user to press a floor key matched with a target floor; if detecting that floor information reached by the elevator is consistent with information of the floor where a target location is located and the elevator car door is opened, the robot moves outof the elevator car; and the robot moves to the target location according to coordinate information of the target location. On the premise of not modifying an existing elevator, the robot can automatically move across the floors, and the problem that the existing elevator needs to get permission of many relevant departments to modify the elevator and a series of inconvenience is brought in the prior art is effectively solved.
