The white balance adjusting method comprises the steps of dividing an image to different areas according to color temperature scenes; respectively calculating the white balance of each area; and performing white balance adjustment on a corresponding area according to the white balance calculating result of each area. When the mobile terminal which uses the white balance adjusting method performs photographing in a hybrid color temperature scene, automatic identification on the color temperature scene in animage is performed, and furthermore area dividing is performed on the image based on the color temperature scene. After a photographing operation is performed, the mobile terminal automatically calculates the white balance result of each area, and furthermore the white balance of each area is adjusted, thereby obtaining a picture with an ideal white balance effect.
