Abstract

Methods and systems are provided for generating a personalized greeting for presentation by a personal digital assistant on a client device. An indication that the personal digital assistant has been activated on the client device is received from the client device associated with the user. User-specific and contextual information is obtained by querying a user profile database and one or more services. The personalized greeting engine utilizes user-specific information, such as user inferences and interests, and contextual information to generate a personalized greeting for presentation by a digital assistant on a client device.
