Embodiment Construction

[0028] The following is a description of example embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0029] The teachings of all patents, published applications, and references cited herein are incorporated by reference in their entirety.

[0030] Some embodiments can help to improve not only the robustness of the basic functions of software (e.g., computer applications) but also the robustness of software error handling functions, and can also experiment with test suites designed to experiment and test the functionality of applications those code paths that are difficult to reach when In some embodiments, such software testing can be automated in a user-friendly manner. In some embodiments, the status of software testing may be displayed to testers, developers, and management of the company developing the software under test.

Abstract

In an example embodiment, a system analyzes a set of computer routines. The system may perform an analysis including a determination of a likelihood of vulnerability to unexpected behavior for one or more computer routines of the set. Based upon the analysis, the system may identify one or more computer routines of the set having the likelihood of vulnerability. The system may asynchronously and dynamically manipulate at least one of the one or more computer routines through a testing technique. The system may determine unexpected behavior of at least one of the one or more computer routines.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Application No. 61 / 998,318, filed June 24, 2014. The entire teaching of the above application is incorporated herein by reference. Background technique [0003] Testing even simple business computer applications can be very complex because the number of independent code paths to be tested can be very large. Each of these code paths in turn consists of a very large number of individual functions, which may consist of one or more blocks of non-contiguous instructions further complicating testing. There is a need in the computer industry for a method of performing such complex tests in an efficient manner. Contents of the invention [0004] The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for automated detection of input / output validation (eg, testing) and output resource management vulnerabilities. Systems and methods can analyze a collection of computer routines. Analysis may i...
