Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a hotspot establishing method and terminal equipment, which are applied to the technical field of mobile terminals. The method comprises the following implementation steps: running a data transmission application in terminal equipment, and detecting whether a wireless fidelity (WiFi) module in the terminal equipment is in a switch-on state or not; if the WiFi module is in the switch-on state, switching off a WiFi function in the terminal equipment; and receiving a data transmission command, and establishing a WiFi hotspot in response to the data transmission command. Through adoption of the hotspot establishing method and the terminal equipment, the WiFi function can be kept in a switch-off state during establishment of the WiFi hotspot; time loss caused by re-execution of a WiFi hotspot creating process due to switch-off of the WiFi function in a process of creating the WiFi hotspot is avoided; and the time of creating the WiFi hotspot is shortened.
