Embodiment Construction

[0048] Therefore, if Figures 1 to 9 Depicted in , the bag expander 100 is shown housed or otherwise positioned within a container or bag 80 depicted in phantom or dashed lines. Bag 80 modeled according to Patent No. 5,350,241 (which is incorporated herein by reference as if stated in these words) includes a zipper 80a, a zipper closure end 80b, a zipper tab at the other end or openable end opposite end 80b. Slice 80c and gusset or gusset area 80d. The bag dilator is comprised of several connecting components 106 (for example, see Figures 3 to 5 and 9) a pair of sidewalls 104 coupled together; in this embodiment, members 106 intersect each other. The side wall 104 may include a frame 105a supported by links 105b, such as figure 1 Examples (for example, see figure 1 and 7 ) or as a similar example in subsequent examples or as Figures 24 to 27 The solid pieces 605 and 705 embodied in . as in Figure 9 Best in Show and in Figure 5 Shown in the middle section, each c...

Abstract

The invention relates to a bag expander and a bag expander method. A bag expander is preliminarily inserted into a bag when the bag is in a compressed condition, such as for shipping and / or storage. The expander is expanded within the bag when the bag is to be expanded such as for purposes of display for sale. The expander includes side walls which are positionable against the bag interior and coupling members articularly connected together and to the side walls. One or more rubber bands or other spring mechanisms are coupled to the members to urge them apart when the expansion is desired. The members are folded when the bag is compressed and expanded by the rubber band or the like to expand the bag to its expanded displayable condition. Sliding mechanisms are connected either (a) on and within the interior of the members or (b) between the members and the side walls to provide a selected sliding movement (a) amongst the members themselves or (b) between the members and the side walls to enable the expander to be placed in its collapsed or extended position.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62 / 161,183, filed May 13, 2015, entitled "Bag Expander." [0003] References Regarding Federal Sponsorship [0004] Not applicable [0005] Reference to Microfiche Addendum [0006] Not applicable technical field [0007] The present invention relates to an embodiment of a bag expander for allowing bags with flexible sides to be moved from a flat state by being housed in them Apparatus and methods for shipment to an expanded state (eg, to present an attractive appearance) at the time of sale. Background technique [0008] In the shipment of goods, freight needs to be paid not only against weight but also against volume. Commercial shipments of goods are usually charged by volume as well as by the weight of the goods. Items, such as bags, are conventionally collapsed for shipping at the time of manufacture, and thus can provide distributors w...
