The method comprises following steps: establishing a relation between frequency change rate kf and damage degree index PK through a numerical simulation method; performing inverse computation to obtain the damage degree index PK by means of actually measured acceleration response values after damage. According to the present damage identification methods, it is required to perform comparison and analysis on current response value signals of the structure with the response value signals before damage to identify damage degree; while by means of the method provided by the invention, only current response value signals are required for analysis to obtain the damage degree of the structure. The provided method quantifies the relation between damage degree index and frequency change rate so that damage degree index can be quantitatively obtained and the damage degree is quantified.
