Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for displaying characters of a user interface used for solving a problem that the color of a wallpaper picture of the terminal UI and the color of the characters that need to be displayed on the UI are the same or similar to cause unclear character display. The method comprises the following steps that the terminal determines a color range of each pixel of the wallpaper picture used by the user interface, and the color range is determined by the value range of a red R component, a green G component and a blue B component of the pixel; the terminal determines a ratio of a pixel number included in the color range to a sum of all pixels included in the wallpaper picture and an average value of the brightness of all pixels included in the color range for each color range respectively; and the terminal determines the color of the characters on the user interface according to the average value of the brightness and the ratio which are respectively corresponding to each color range.
