The method comprises following steps: detecting whether a user holds the terminal device by a single hand or not; detecting whether the user triggers a shake operation to the terminal device; and when detecting that the terminal device is held by the single hand and the shake operation is triggered, starting a corresponding single-hand control window to display a current application interface. Through the single-hand control method and device of the user interface and the terminal device provided by the invention, the terminal application interface can be switched to a single-hand control mode by the user according to the demand; and the efficiency and the experience degree of using the large screen terminal device by the user are improved.
