The invention provides a doorbell volume automatic adjusting system which is installed and operates in a doorbell. The doorbell comprises a button switch, a timer and a loudspeaker. The system comprises a detecting module which is used for detecting pressing of the button switch of the doorbell; a control module which is used for controlling timekeeping of the timer of the doorbell; and a judgment module which is used for judging whether timekeeping time of the timer exceeds preset time when pressing of the button switch of the doorbell is detected again. The control module is also used for increasing ringing volume of the loudspeaker of the doorbell according to a volume stepping value when the timekeeping time of the timer does not exceed the preset time. The invention also provides a doorbell volume automatic adjusting method. When a visitor continuously presses the doorbell within the preset time, the volume of the doorbell can be continuously increased to prompt a user by the doorbell volume automatic adjusting system and method so that the embarrassment of closing the door upon the visitor caused by undersized volume of the doorbell can be avoided for the user.
