Abstract

An embodiment of the present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for turning pages of an electronic document, and the method and apparatus are applied to an electronic instrument supporting a multipoint hand signal touch control panel. The method includes steps as follows: detecting states of touch control points of the multipoint hand signal touch control panel when the electronic instrument displays content of an electronic document; further detecting whether a swipe hand signal operation aiming at other touch control points exists if a long press maintaining hand signal operation aiming at any touch control point is detected out; turning pages of the electronic document according to the swipe hand signal operation under the condition that the swipe hand signal operation aiming at other touch control points is detected out; and displaying contents of turned pages when the stop of the swipe hand signal operation is detected out. Through adoption of the embodiment of the present invention, page turning of the electronic document can be realized without calling and dragging an electronic document content display control bar. The method and the apparatus reduce the number of operation steps for turning a page of the electronic document and increase the efficiency of page turning of the electronic document.
