Problems solved by technology

However, for low duty cycle systems where each sensor assembly may only spend a very small amount of time (eg, 1%) performing data transmission, the power consumed during this idle period may still constitute a significant portion of the overall power budget

[0150] Figure 17 is a block diagram of an example mobile cellular telephone 1000 utilizing A2I sparse voice features for command recognition. Digital baseband (DBB) unit 1002 may include a digital processing processor system (DSP) including embedded memory and security features. The simulation processing (SP) unit 1004 receives the voice data stream from the handheld microphone 1013a and sends the voice data stream to the handheld mono speaker 1013b. SP unit 1004 also receives a voice data stream from microphone 1014a and sends the voice data stream to mono headset 1014b. Usually, SP and DBB are separate ICs. In most embodiments, the SP does not embed a programmable processor core, but performs processing based on the configuration of audio paths, filters, gains, etc. set by software running on the DBB. In an alternate embodiment, SP processing is performed on the same processor that executes DBB processing. In another embodiment, a separate DSP or other type of processor...

Abstract

The present invention relates to the sound symbol detection of context sensing. A low-power sound identification sensor is configured to receive an analog signal containing symbol sound, the sparse sound parameter information is extracted from the analog signal and is sampled periodically, and the context values are updated to indicate the current environmental condition. The sparse sound parameter information and the context values are compared by a symbol sound parameter database of the sound identification sensor stored locally to identify the sound or voice contained in the analog signal, so that the sound or voice identification is suitable for the current environmental condition.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to active sensor circuits, and in particular active sensor circuits that operate on low power and with low duty cycles. Background technique [0002] With recent advances in semiconductor manufacturing and sensor technology, low-power sensor networks, especially those that operate wirelessly, are providing tools for monitoring various environments and controlling various sensors associated with or within such environments. new capabilities of the process. Applications (both civil and military) include transportation, manufacturing, biomedical, environmental management, and security systems. Additionally, voice or voice controlled applications can be coupled with mobile phones or other personal electronic devices and systems, automotive control and entertainment systems, and the like. [0003] Especially for wireless sensor networks, low power operation is critical to allow maximum flexibility with maximum battery life an...
