Abstract

The present invention provides a device having an implantable body associated with at least two filaments or sutures and configured for use in soft tissue reconstruction. An exemplary embodiment includes an implantable body, an adjustable filament loop for retaining a ligament graft coupled to the body, and a shuttle suture removably coupled to the The implantable body is configured to shuttle the body through at least a portion of the bone tunnel. The loop can be defined by a self-locking knot, and extensions of one or more adjustment loops can extend from the knot, wherein a portion of the extension also extends into the hollow portion of the shuttle suture. In some embodiments with two adjustable extensions, the middle portion of each extension can be the portion disposed in the corresponding hollow portion of the shuttle suture. Other configurations of devices and systems, and methods for performing ACL repair are also provided.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for securing soft tissue to bone, and more particularly, the present disclosure relates to securing an ACL graft to the femur. Background technique [0002] Joint injuries often result in complete or partial separation of ligaments, tendons, and soft tissues from bone. Tissue dissociation can occur in a variety of ways, for example, as a result of an accidental fall, overexertion, etc., during a work-related activity, during a sporting competition, or in any of a number of other situations and / or activities Tissue separation occurs. These types of injuries are usually caused by excessive stress or force placed on the tissue. [0003] In the case of a partial detachment (often denoted by the generic term "sprain"), the injury usually heals without medical intervention, with the patient resting and taking care that the injury is not subjected to excessive strenuous activity while the heali...
