Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a system for locating short-circuit faults of power distribution networks. The method includes mounting a power distribution terminal for a switch of each feeder line; receiving data monitored by the power distribution terminals in real time, and computing average currents of the various switches; computing fault judging values of the various witches and judging whether faults occur in circuits where the switches are positioned; topologically analyzing the networks by the aid of states of the switches and dividing regions; traversing the regions connected with the switches with fault symbols, and locating certain regions as fault regions; enabling servers of master stations to compute fault discrimination values of the various fault regions; locating short-circuit fault regions by the aid of the fault discrimination values. Fault currents only can flow into the certain regions without flowing out of the certain regions which are located as the fault regions. The system comprises an information acquisition unit, a network topology unit and a computing unit. The method and the system have the advantages that the short-circuit faults of the power distribution networks can be quickly located by the aid of the method and the system; operation procedures implemented by the aid of a computing process are simple, and accordingly program resources can be saved; the operation procedures can be simplified, and accordingly the operation time and the program resources further can be saved.
