[0023] The apparatus for stretching skin tissue at the edges of ulcers, wounds etc. comprises first and second splint members 10, 12 connected by elastic members such as strips 14 of elastomeric material, especially silicone. Thus, the splint members 10, 12 connected by the strip 14 face each other and are spaced apart from each other (see figure 1 ). The strip 14 has an indicator 16 of the stress state, the function of which will be explained in more detail below.
