The method includes sending mounting information of a temporary operating system to the server, and using the mounting information for mounting the temporary operating system in a memory of the server by the server; sending a resource information acquiring request to the server; and receiving the resource information, acquired according to the resource information acquiring request by the temporary operating system, of the server. The temporary operating system is mounted in the memory of the server, the resource information of the server is acquired by the temporary operating system, and accordingly the resource information of the server can be acquired flexibly and the problems in terms of universality and limitation caused by a BMC ( board management chip) are solved.
