Abstract

The invention discloses a display device with a static image judging function and a judging method of the device. The display device comprises a receiving unit, a memory unit, a display unit and a processing unit, wherein the receiving unit is used for receiving a first image data including a first image and a second image in a first scheduled period and storing the first image data into a memory unit; the display unit is used for displaying the first image data as a first image; and a coupling memory unit and the processing unit of the display unit respectively divide the first image and the second image into corresponding N first subimages and second subimages, wherein N is a natural number, respectively record a plurality of first and second maximum colour gradation parameter values and a plurality of first and second minimum colour gradation parameter values direct to each first subimage and each second subimage, compare each corresponding first maximum colour gradation parameter value, each corresponding second maximum colour gradation parameter value, each corresponding first minimum colour gradation parameter value and each corresponding second minimum colour gradation parameter value and judge the first image to be static when two differences are less than an initial check scheduled difference level. With adoption of the display device and the judging method thereof which are disclosed by the invention, a persistent image of the display device can be avoided.
