Abstract

A washing machine includes a cabinet, a rotary tub disposed to rotate around a driving shaft, which is vertically provided inside the inner part of the cabinet, and comprising a bottom and a sidewall, the sidewall slantingly extending from the bottom to have a diameter increasing toward an upper side of the rotary tub from the bottom, a driving apparatus disposed at a lower side of the rotary tub to rotate the rotary tub, a bracket plate connected to the rotary tub by the driving shaft at the lower side of the rotary tub and having the driving apparatus provided at a lower side thereof, a base disposed at a lower side of the bracket plate, and a suspension member having a lower side supported by the base and an upper side connected to the bracket plate at a lateral side of a center of gravity of the rotary tub.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a washing machine and an apparatus for supporting a lower portion of the washing machine. Background technique [0002] Washing machines are designed to wash clothes by using electricity. Generally speaking, a washing machine includes: a tub for containing washing water; a rotary tub rotatably installed inside the tub; a pulsator rotatably installed at the bottom of the rotary tub; a motor and a clutch configured to rotate the tub and the pulsator rotates. [0003] When the rotary tub and the pulsator rotate in a state that laundry and detergent are introduced into the rotary tub, the pulsator agitates wash water together with the laundry introduced into the rotary tub, thereby removing stains from the laundry. [0004] In order to increase the washing capacity of the washing machine, a larger spin tub is required, that is, the height or diameter of the spin tub needs to be increased. If the rotary tub...
