Abstract

The invention discloses a network optimization method which includes: negotiating a communication protocol version between a client side and a server side to enable both the client side and the server side to be supportive to an SMB (server message block) v2 protocol; and mutually switching an SMB v1 protocol and the SMB v2 protocol between the client side and the server slide, so that the client side interacts with the server side or other client sides by the aid of the SMB v2 protocol. The invention further discloses a network optimization device. Therefore, the network optimization method has the advantage that network optimization including that the server side is only supportive to the SMB v1 protocol while the client side is only supportive to the SMB v2 protocol is improved, interactive time delay for the client side and the server side is shortened, and use experience of a network neighborhood is improved.
