Problems solved by technology

[0004] However, the aggregation port in a single device environment performs traffic sharing among all member ports belonging to the aggregation group based on the hash policy set by the user, while the bandwidth of the stack link between devices in the VSC environment is very limited, so the traffic of the aggregation link across devices For load sharing, the limited bandwidth of the stack link between devices must be taken into consideration. If the traffic sharing policy of a single device environment is applied to a VSC scenario, and load sharing is still performed on all member ports belonging to the aggregation group, the bandwidth of the stack link may be limited. Limit, affecting traffic forwarding performance

Embodiment

[0061] In this embodiment, the VSC includes two physical devices (one master and one backup), and the link aggregation group member list includes four member ports (the master device and the slave device each include two member ports).

[0062] Figure 5 It is a schematic diagram of the traffic forwarding strategy when the initial state and the traffic do not exceed the total bandwidth of the local members of the aggregation group in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in Figure 5 As shown in , the traffic currently passing through the master and slave devices is forwarded by the local members of the aggregation group respectively; Figure 6 It is a schematic diagram of the traffic forwarding strategy when the traffic of the slave device exceeds the total bandwidth of the traffic forwarding members of the aggregation group in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in Figure 6 As shown, for the slave device, some non-local member ports (ports of the ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for forwarding traffic based on a virtual switch cluster. The method comprises the following steps of: setting an aggregation group member list which stores all member information of an aggregation group; setting an aggregation group traffic forwarding member list which stores information of aggregation group members which are used for forwarding the traffic, wherein the aggregation group traffic forwarding member list only comprises aggregation group local member information in an initial state; and determining that the traffic of physical equipment exceeds the total bandwidth of members in the aggregation group traffic forwarding member list, or exceeds a threshold value related to the total bandwidth, adding nonlocal members which are selected from the aggregation group member list to the aggregation group traffic forwarding member list, and forwarding the traffic according to the modified aggregation group traffic forwarding member list. The invention also discloses a system for forwarding the traffic based on the virtual switch cluster correspondingly. By the method and the system, the traffic can be forwarded in the scene of the virtual switch cluster on the premise of occupying limited bandwidth of a stack link as few as possible, so that the performance of traffic forwarding in the scene of the virtual switch cluster is ensured.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of data communication, in particular to a traffic forwarding method and system based on a virtual switching cluster. Background technique [0002] A virtual switch cluster (Virtual Switch Cluster, VSC) is an application of network virtualization technology. Generally, multiple physical devices running independently are connected into a virtual joint device through stacking boards. Each physical device discovers other physical devices through a topology protocol, and selects a master device (Master) and a slave device (Slave) according to a policy. In the VSC scenario, there is only one master device, and other devices are slave devices. [0003] Because multiple physical devices are virtualized into one device, the ports on different physical devices can be aggregated into one logical port. Similar to the single device environment, the multi-port link aggregation command can also be used to configure the aggregated p...
