Embodiment Construction

[0031] figure 1 and Figure 9 Both show hearing aids 1 of the RITE type. figure 1 The hearing aid 1 has a housing 2 configured to be placed behind the ear. The hearing aid illustrated is of the RITE type, and it has an earpiece 3 which is connected to the electronics in the housing 2 by means of conductors 4 . The earpiece 3 is the part adapted to be placed at the auditory canal, mainly in the outer ear and partly extending into the ear canal. For this purpose, figure 1 The earpiece or ear piece 3 has a curved tubular portion leading to an ear bud. Similarly, Figure 9 The hearing aid 1 has a housing 2 configured to be placed behind the ear. For this purpose, Figure 9 Earpiece 3 i...

Abstract

A retaining module (5) for retaining an earpiece in an ear. The retaining module (5) comprises an annular sleeve (6) having a central aperture (7) adapted for receiving and holding at least a part of the earpiece. The retaining module (5) further comprises a first retaining member (8) adapted for engaging at least a part of the concha of the ear and having a proximal end (9) connected to said annular member (6) at a first location, and a strut member (10) having a proximal end (11) connected to said annular member (6) at a second location, and a distal end connected (13) to the distal end (12) of said first retaining member (8).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to hearing aids. The invention more particularly relates to a holding module for holding an earpiece or earpiece in the ear, and a hearing aid using such a holding module. In particular, but not exclusively, the invention relates to a holding module for holding a hearing aid earpiece in place in the ear, for example in the ear canal or in the concha of the ear. Background technique [0002] As the name implies, behind-the-ear / behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids are worn on the back of the ear. To be more precise, the electronic unit including the housing containing the relevant main electronic components is worn behind the ear. The earpiece, which emits sound to the hearing aid user, is worn in the ear, eg in the concha or ear canal of the ear. In conventional BTE hearing aids, a sound conduit is used because the output transducer (often called the receiver in hearing aid terminology) is located within the housing of the ...
