Abstract

A window type augmented reality providing apparatus and method thereof are provided to offer interfaces to a user by displaying an AR(Augmented Reality) object of a window type corresponding to a marker by considering of the size of the predetermined window according to the marker and the location of an AR apparatus. A marker recognition unit recognizes a marker in a preview mode. A window detection unit detects a window area from the marker. A location estimation unit determines a location relationship between the window area or the marker, and an AR service apparatus. An information processing unit determines AR information. The information processing unit determines the area of the AR information displayed through the window area based on the location relationship. An image processing unit displays the AR information area on the window area.
