Abstract

Accessories for electronic devices, such as earphones, are provided. The headset may be provided with a button controller assembly having user actuated buttons. The button controller assembly may be formed from housing portions that float relative to each other. The plastic engagement structure may limit the amount of unimpeded travel exhibited by the housing portion. The housing part may be formed by the first housing and the second housing. A rigid frame may be mounted within the second housing. When a user squeezes the first and second housing parts together to actuate a desired button, the first housing can flex along its length. The housing may be formed as a two-shot plastic part having a first plastic and a second plastic with different properties. An integrated circuit and a microphone can be mounted within the button controller assembly. A non-operational microphone port may be provided as a visual indicator that the button controller contains a microphone.
